Dyfed Steels To Embark On Second Stage Of Manufacturing Investment - 01 January 2008

Following our highly successful investment in our profiling operations in 2006, Dyfed Steels has installed a state of the art structural steel processing facility as part of our commitment to enhance the service we offer our customers.
This investment includes:

  •  Upgrade and expanded warehousing and craneage
  •  A Gietart 6 turbine automatic shot blasting and painting line
  •  2 Kaltenbach high speed band saws capable of cutting the largest beams both mitre and straight cuts
  •  A Kaltenbach drilling line
  •  A Kaltenbach punching and shearing system

This investment significantly increases the Company’s structural steels processing capacity allowing us to meet the increasing needs of our customers for quicker and more reliable lead times.

It also for the first time allows the Company to offer a complete service with drilling and processed fittings available to complement the cutting, blasting and painting service.

We are pleased that this expenditure is being helped with valuable Assistance from the Welsh Assembly Government through an RSA Grant

Totalling 60,000 square feet of internal storage and substantial amounts of external storage, this facility will allow the Company to increase the level of stocks it can hold to meet ever more demanding customer service requirements.

It also enables us to respond to short term customer requirements by accessing our stocks much more rapidly from our own dedicated facility.
